Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to our wonderful Pre-Primary students for a beautiful assembly this morning. They shared their learning about community and reminded us just how special our EVPPS community truly is.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff and supportive parents for helping our students feel confident and “performance ready.” Your efforts make mornings like this possible.

Congratulations to today’s award winners:

EVPPS RECYCLE RIGHT STATION

We collect:

  • Writing instruments
  • Mobile Phones
  • Fluorescent globes
  • Ink Cartridges
  • CDs and DVDs
  • Bread Tags
  • Corks
  • Batteries

We desperately require some volunteers to collect the materials from the station, at the front of the school, and take them to the appropriate large scale recycling centre.

If this is something that you feel you can help with, please call in and see our office staff.

SCHOOL BOARD NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN

We are calling for nominations to fill two positions on our School Board. The School Board plays an important role in shaping the strategic direction of our school by providing advice, promoting the school within the community, and supporting school policies and planning. Parents and community members with an interest in contributing to our school’s ongoing improvement are encouraged to nominate. Please email your nomination to kim.knowles@education.wa.edu.au with School Board Nomination in the subject line. If you would like to discuss this with me prior to nominating, please call the office on 62280700. If we receive more than two nominations, we will conduct an election, early in the new school year.

I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our departing Board members, Lauren Garvey (8 years) and Shabnam Nasheri (5 years), for their exemplary service to the Board and our school community. Your tireless efforts, dedication, and the unique skills and perspectives you have contributed to governance, strategic direction, and support of school leadership and staff have greatly benefited all our students.

We are deeply grateful and wish you both all the best as your children embark on their journeys at new schools. Your new school communities will be very fortunate to have you!

PLAYING IN ECE PLAYGROUND AFTER SCHOOL

We love seeing our families connecting and children enjoying the ECE playground after school—it truly helps nurture our wonderful sense of community. To ensure this can continue, we kindly remind families that children must be actively supervised by an adult at all times. Recently we’ve had a few injuries and conflicts, and we want to keep this space safe and positive for everyone. Please help us uphold our CORE values while on school grounds, and remember that staff, including our cleaning team, are still working during this time. Thank you for your support in keeping our school a safe and welcoming place.

COMPOSITE CLASS INFORMATION

As is always the case we will have several composite classes next year, including (at this stage) a K/PP, Year 2/3, Year 4/5 and Year 5/6. Staff devote considerable time to placing students in classes, and our structure is not yet finalised. It may change depending on enrolments received over the summer break. For further details, please refer to our Class Placement Policy on the school website. As our enrolment numbers typically fluctuate over summer, class lists will be released on Thursday, 29 January 2026, and families will be notified via Compass.

RINGING OF THE BELL

A reminder that the Ringing of the Bell for our Year 6 students, along with any students leaving the school, will take place at 2.15pm on Thursday, 18 December, the final day of the school year. This long-standing tradition is a special moment that our departing students look forward to, and families are warmly invited to attend.

Looking ahead to 2026, on Monday, 2 February, the first day of school, our Pre-Primary students will be invited to ring the bell at the end of their first day. This will also be from 2.15pm. This tradition marks the beginning of full-time, compulsory schooling, symbolically bookending each child’s entire primary school experience. Current Kindy parents, please put this date in your diary!!

PARENT VOLUNTEER MORNING TEA

We warmly invite all parents who have supported our school in any way this year—whether on excursions, in classrooms, at events, or anywhere in between—to join us for a special Morning Tea on Monday, 1 December at 10.40am in the library.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and care you give to our school community. We truly can’t thank you enough for everything you do.

END OF YEAR COMMUNITY CONCERT

We are excited to invite you to our End of Year Community Concert on Thursday, 4 December! The concert will begin promptly at 5:30 PM, and we encourage families to arrive from 5:00 PM to set up picnic areas.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Student Participation:
Children will remain with their families until their year level is called to perform. After their performance, they will return to their families to enjoy the rest of the concert together.
  • Supervision and Safety:
The Year 3–6 playground will not be available during the event. We ask that students stay with their families and refrain from running or playing. Concert etiquette means everyone should enjoy the performances together as a respectful audience.

P&C Raffle

The P&C will host a community raffle, with tickets available for purchase between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM. The raffle will be drawn during the concert—don’t miss out!

Parking Information

  • Limited parking will be available on the old basketball court.
  • We recommend using nearby streets for additional parking.
  • If you park on the basketball court or in the Mint St car park, please ensure you leave promptly at the end of the concert so the school grounds can be secured.

We look forward to celebrating a fantastic evening with our school community!

Kind regards

Kim Knowles
