Good afternoon everyone
We were treated to a wonderful assembly hosted by the Education Support Centre (ESC), focusing on the important topic of water safety. Over the past two weeks, ESC students have been attending lessons and shared some of the key things they have learned about staying safe around water. We loved their performance and the confidence they showed when speaking on the microphone in front of such a large audience. Well done, ESC students – you were amazing!
Congratulations to this week’s award winners:

Hawaiian Giving Box Appeal
Thank you to our school community for supporting this year’s Hawaiian Giving Box campaign. With more than 231,000 Western Australian households experiencing severe food insecurity, your generosity will make a meaningful difference to families in need this festive season.
Today, we will receive 17 Giving Boxes, one for each classroom.
What’s involved?
Students will:
- Assemble their class Giving Box
- Place the Hawaiian Giving Box sticker on top
- Learn about Foodbank WA via a factsheet to help students understand food insecurity and the impact of their contribution
- Add a class message of kindness
- Decorate the box
- Fill it with non-perishable food items such as canned goods, rice, pasta, long-life milk, cereal, oats, tea, spreads and more
We look forward to seeing the creativity, kindness and generosity of our students as they decorate their boxes and fill them with food items to support families across WA.
Thank you for helping us make a positive difference this Christmas by sending non-perishable food items, as listed above. We thank you for your contributions.
Voluntary Fees
We still have a large number of outstanding voluntary fees. This year’s fees include a $50 Voluntary Contribution per child and a $50 P&C Voluntary Contribution per family. These contributions are an important source of revenue for our school and help fund items such as shade sails, soccer goals, sports equipment, reading books, library books, and classroom toys and resources.
Thank you for your support.
Compass and Seesaw
At the beginning of 2026, we will only be using Compass. Seesaw will no longer be available. Please ensure you have downloaded the Compass app to your phone by the end of this year. All messages at the start of next year—including notification of your child’s class placement for 2026—will be sent via Compass.
Should you require support to get your Compass operational, please call the office on 6228 0700.
Sand Safety Recall
You may have seen reports about an ACCC product safety recall for coloured sand that may contain asbestos, which has now been reported as a very low level of risk. The product recall was precautionary and based on preliminary results, with more detailed scientific testing underway at a national level.
Please be assured that we have taken the measures advised in the recall. Following a thorough audit, we did find coloured sand products in our school. We have followed WA Public Health advice and the Department of Education’s protocols to remove all coloured sand products, including sand not on the recall list.
The Departments of Education and Health are working closely together to monitor and respond to this issue and is awaiting further advice following the national testing.
We have been advised that, as the products have a very low level of risk, people who may have come into contact with the recalled products do not need to seek medical advice.
If you find this product in your home, please refer to the product safety recall for all consumers. There are multiple coloured sand products on the ACCC website.
You can call the Department of Health on (08) 9222 4222 to discuss any health concerns.
Kind regards

Student Voice- What’s Happening Around Our School – shared at assembly today
Kavithma:
On Thursday, 4th December, we’ll have our End of Year Concert, which will probably be very busy and crowded. On that day, every year group will be performing a song, and we can’t wait to see everyone in action. Our Senior Concert Band will be performing, teachers will be giving out special awards to students in their classes, and the Senior Choir will also be singing on stage. Remember, this year’s theme is Australian, so wear your best yellow and green clothing for this special day that’s coming up very soon! Lance:
With only a few weeks left in the school year, we want to make them the best they can be. Our PBS Reward Day is getting close—a whole day of fun for the whole school as we celebrate all our hard work this term. This term we’ll be celebrating with a special movie and ice cream! However, we haven’t reached our PBS reward goal just yet, so keep it up and stay as engaged as possible. We hope the next few days of the year will be our best, and we can’t wait for Reward Day!
Mujtuba:
Soon we have something very fun, exciting and cool… SWIMMING LESSONS! Swimming lessons will happen in Weeks 9 and 10. They are going to be so fun and exciting—let’s all get ready to have fun and jump into the pool! Don’t forget your goggles. We can all learn something new, like freestyle. These lessons are going to be amazing, full of fun and excitement. We hope you all pass your levels and learn new things.
Johan:
As we approach the end of the year, a very exciting event is coming up for our Year 6s—Graduation! It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all the hard work our seniors have been doing. Graduation will be held in the undercover area on December 2nd. Tickets are now sold out, although siblings of our Year 6s will still have tickets if families have registered.
This assembly is my last one, as I won’t be here next week, so I just want to say how much I have loved being your councillor for 2025. It has been an immense honour, and I wish the best of luck to next year’s councillors.

World Teachers’ Day 2025
Recently we celebrated our amazing teachers who inspire, support and empower our students. Thank you to our wonderful Education Assistants and our lovely parents who brought in a beautiful morning tea for the staff to share.

Eagles Rock My School
How lucky are our students? We had a visit from Rick “The Rock” Eagle and his friends who talked about being the best version of yourself. The school-based program is a values-based program that has delivered key messages of respect, healthy lifestyle of choice sand striving to achieve your best to students all over WA.

Remembrance Day
On Remembrance Day, we joined millions of Australians in a solemn pause at 11 am to honour the courage, service, and ultimate sacrifice of those who gave their lives in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions. Kavithma and Johan spoke with conviction, helping students reflect on the profound meaning of the day. Rachel’s moving performance of The Last Post offered the enduring legacy of their sacrifice.

Community Incursion
As part of our inquiry into “Who lives and works in our community”, the Pre-Primaries have been busy discovering the many important roles that help make our neighbourhood a great place to live.
We were thrilled to welcome two friendly police officers who shared how they keep our community safe and the different vehicles they used on land, sea and air. The highlight of the morning was getting to peek inside a real police car!
