Newsletter 11th December 2024

Final Newsletter for 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the year comes to a close, I would like to wish you all a wonderful break with your families. It has been a highly successful year, filled with many exciting events such as sports carnivals, the Massed Choir Festival, swimming lessons, the Halloween Disco, and the Community Concert, to name just a few.

Thank you for your unwavering support of these important school events and for the effort you put in every day to support your children’s learning. I was deeply impressed with the reports presented at the end of the semester and am incredibly proud of our students for their achievements.

Ringing of the Bell

As is tradition, tomorrow we will celebrate the Year 6 students and any other students leaving our school as they ring the bell at the end of the day. This important milestone marks the conclusion of their time at East Victoria Park Primary School. We will meet in the undercover area at 2:15 PM, and parents are warmly invited to attend.

Earlier this year, we began a new tradition where our Pre-Primary students ring the bell on their very first day of school. The first day of school next year is Wednesday, 5th February, and we will once again gather in the undercover area at 2:15 PM for this special moment. 2025 Pre-Primary parents – please mark this date in your calendars.

Class Allocations for 2025

You will receive a Seesaw message with a password-protected link to the school newsletter, where you can find your child’s class allocation for the year. Please note that East Victoria Park continues to experience significant population growth, and we are still uncertain if we will run an additional class in 2025. New enrolments received as the new year commences will determine this, and there is a possibility that we may need to restructure classes halfway through the term.

Currently, our planning includes three composite classes (a composite class combines two year levels in one classroom). All teachers are trained to teach composite classes, and students in these classes will receive their full year-level curriculum. Please remain positive when discussing composite classes with your child. Based on my experience, composite classes are highly effective both academically and socially, and children are not disadvantaged by being part of one.

To our families who are leaving us, I wish you all the best at your future schools and thank you for being a valued part of the East Victoria Park school community. For everyone else, I hope you have a restful break, and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2025.

Warm regards

Kim Knowles

2025 Voluntary Charges and Contributions

Funds raised through contributions allow us to enhance the learning environment at East Victoria Park Primary School through purchasing resources and running programmes to benefit all students. While contributions are voluntary, the quality of our learning programs will be maximised when all families contribute.

Each year the P & C requests a voluntary contribution from families which helps support P & C managed activities, the second-hand uniform shop, and other amenities at the school.

2025 School Voluntary Contributions are $50.00 per child.

2025 P&C Voluntary Contribution are $50.00 per family.

Payments can be made directly to the school or through Campion Education when purchasing from the Booklist.

Please see the front office to organise payment by instalments. Direct Deposit or EFTPOS is available.
