Fear Less Positive Parenting Program
All kids feel anxious from time to time. But if your child is struggling with frequent worries, extra support can help. This program helps you to get a better understanding of anxiety and learn evidence-based strategies to help them overcome it – safely and gradually. Help them develop their own toolkit of coping skills and become more emotionally resilient. This will not only support your child but can also make the whole family feel more confident, calm and capable.
We are offering Fear Less on Wednesday 6 May in the school library from 6 – 8pm.

Staff Farewells and Celebrations
As the term draws to a close, we farewell a number of valued staff members.
Leah Molloy and Elizabeth Bachleitner have all concluded their contracts with us. Each of you has been a wonderful addition to our school community, and you will be greatly missed.
We also farewell Russell Leslie, who has been associated with the school for many, many years. Russell is about to move overseas, and we wish him all the very best in his future adventures. You will certainly be missed.
Finally, we would like to congratulate Luke Cutler, who is getting married over the school holidays. We wish Luke and his wife-to-be, Giselle, a wonderful wedding day—we will be thinking of you both!
Thank you to all families for a wonderful term. Our students have worked hard in their learning, and we are very proud of all they have achieved.
We hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break and returns refreshed for another busy term of learning, commencing on Tuesday 21 April.

Student Councillor Messages
Please read on for our student councillor messages, delivered at assembly this morning:
Fatima:
Good morning, everyone. Happy last day of term! I hope you’ve all had an amazing final week.
I would like to say a big congratulations to all students for reaching your PBS goal! I hope you are all excited for your movie and popcorn reward later today.
It was also wonderful to see everyone in their superhero outfits yesterday. Thank you for your gold coin donations. The money raised will go to the Hero Hunter Foundation, a charity that supports families with children living with cancer and certain blood disorders.
The interschool swimming carnival was held on Monday the 23rd. It was amazing to cheer on our swimmers. If you participated in the carnival, please stand. (pause) Let’s give them a big round of applause for their fantastic effort. Congratulations and thank you—you can sit down. Great work, team!

Austin:
Good morning, everyone. I hope you’ve all had a great final week of school, and that today is even better!
Are you looking forward to the school holidays? I know I am! Please keep safe these holidays, put sunscreen on and be nice to your parents!
Just a quick reminder that Monday the 20th of April is a teacher development day, so students will return to school on Tuesday the 21st of April.
Phoebe:
The Year 6s had an amazing time at Cahoots Adventure Camp last Wednesday. It was fantastic to get out of the classroom and take part in fun activities, including team-building water challenges, a high ropes course and outdoor laser tag.
A big thank you to all the Year 6 teachers, staff, Mrs Tuttle and Mrs Knowles for organising such a memorable experience.

The weather has been a bit unpredictable this week due to Tropical Cyclone Narelle affecting parts of WA. Hopefully you all stayed warm and dry—and that your washing didn’t blow away!
As we head into the holidays, I hope you enjoy the sunshine as we move further into autumn. And for those who celebrate Easter, I hope you have a happy, hoppy Easter—keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny!
Tyler:
Good morning, everyone. I can’t believe it’s already the end of Term 1—wow, that went fast!
It’s been a very busy term with lots of events and activities, so I’m sure you’re all ready for a well-earned break—just like your parents!
I also have some important news for the Year 6s. Today, specialist program directors from Kent Street Senior High School and Como Secondary College will be visiting to talk about their programs as we begin our transition to high school.
For those applying or trying out for specialist programs, good luck! Remember to represent yourself and our school in the best way possible.
I hope you’ve all had a fantastic first term. Enjoy your PBS reward today and have a safe and relaxing holiday!
Hero Hunter Day 1 April 2026
The school was full of superheroes for Hero Hunter Day. Thanks to our generous families, we raised over $600 to support families fighting childhood cancer.

Premier’s Reading Challenge
Week 1 of the Premier’s Reading Challenge at East Victoria Park Primary School has seen 211 books logged by 38 students. The school holidays will be a great time to encourage your child to continue reading. Maybe even a visit to the Victoria Park library to discover more books.
