Principal’s News 11 June 2021

Dear Parents and Carers

It was lovely to see so many parents at Room 10’s assembly this morning. The students put on a humorous and well put together item. I spoke to a number of parents who for them it was their child’s ‘last’ assembly item at primary school. What a nostalgic time for our year 6s and their parents as they experience many more ‘lasts’ as we move towards the end of the year. Speaking of ‘lasts’, for our Year 6s it will be their last Winter Carnival next week, while for our Year 4s it will be their first! We wish the Year 4 – 6 students the very best at their carnival next week and hope they do us proud by showing off their great sporting and sportsmanship skills.

Congratulations to our Merit Award winners for this week.

We received some amazing news this week. East Victoria Park Primary School has been successful in receiving a grant of $160,000.00 as committed during the 2021 State election to upgrade our basketball courts. Hannah Beazley MLA, Member for Victoria Park is attending our P&C meeting to talk about the grant and to answer any questions we may have. The P&C Meeting is on Monday, 17 June 2021, commencing at 7pm in the staff room. I would love to see as many parents joins us as is possible. Our P&C are doing a super job with the Quiz Night and the school is most appreciative of all of the work going on behind the scenes.

The P&C is super excited to announce the launch of the BID LIKE YOU ARE FAMOUS Silent Auction!

We have had so many amazing donations from our business community that we have decided to start this event before the Quiz Night! You can go online to view all the amazing donations, register as a participant and bid on any item you like. So you get something great and you help raise funds for the nature playground at the same time!

The auction will go off line at 10am Saturday the 19th June and will go live at the quiz night.

The pre event live auction is open to anyone in our community and beyond so please share this information with all your friends and family. Visit the website for LIVE Auction or scan the QR Code.
