2022 Planning
It is that time of the year where we start to put planning in place for 2022. To assist with this please advise the office by email or in person if your family is leaving East Victoria Park and not returning for the 2022 school year.
Pick Up and Set Down Bays
Thank you to all who continue to follow the intent of the Pick Up and Set Down bays at the front of the school. Traffic is moving more freely morning and afternoon and having student names displayed clearly at Pick Up time makes it easier to get students to their cars more promptly. We do ask that you refrain from performing U-turns on Beatty Avenue – if you need to turn around please go the end of the street and use the roundabout at Roberts Road.
Website Update
Our Reconciliation Plan and our Annual Report 2020 have recently been uploaded to the publications tab on the school website. Please take some time to read these important documents.
Music
The WA Massed Choir Festival is a showcase of excellence for our public primary school choirs. This annual event raises the profile of music in our public primary schools and this year, culminated with a planned 9 public performances held in Perth Concert Hall. Our amazing Choir performed last night and did our school and themselves very proud – what an inspiring performance. Thank you to our very talented and dedicated music specialist, Mrs Alison Motherwell, and to the very talented and dedicated parents and students for their commitment to the program.
We are having a Music Assembly on Monday morning at 8.50am where the band and the Junior and Senior Choirs will be performing. Parents are welcome to attend.
Uniform Shop Coordinator
Our amazing Uniform Shop Coordinator, Sarah Bayley, is stepping down from the role at the end of this year so the P&C are looking for a volunteer or volunteers to take over the role. Sarah is happy to train the new coordinator, please see one of your P&C representatives if you think you are able to help out.
Term 4
Please be advised that there is no School Development Day (SDD) on the first day back next term. Both staff and students commence Term 4 on Monday, 11 October. Our SDD is being held on Friday, 19 November – please note this day in your calendars if you haven’t done so already.
Assembly
We were treated to some impressive reader’s theatre performances from our very clever Year 3 students in Room 6. Many thanks to Miss Yee and Miss Satie for helping their students get ready. The students spoke articulately and the stories they chose to share were very funny – we certainly have a budding actor or two in Room 6!
Congratulations to our Merit Award winners for this week.
