Principal’s Messages – Welcome to week 9

Faction & Interschool Athletics Carnivals

It has been a very sporty few weeks at EVPPS with our own Faction Carnival followed closely this week by the Interschool Carnival held yesterday. It was great to see all of our students displaying fantastic sportsmanship in the team games as well as in individual races. Congratulations to Curtin who won our Faction Carnival and well done to our Interschool team that gave it their all and helped EVP into 4th place overall, against all the other schools.  Thank you to Mr Ranford for his hard work in organising the carnivals and preparing our team. Another BIG thank you goes to our P&C and volunteers for organising and running the Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall. Thank you also to all families who donated delicious treats for both cake stalls. And a final thank you to all parents and families who came along to support the students and cheer on the teams! (Pictures in Sports Report)

Cyber-Safety Parent Workshop

Thank you to all parents/carers who attended the ySafe Parent Cyber Safety Workshop last Wednesday evening. There was a great deal of information provided on how to keep our children safe whilst online and this has complemented all of the school’s Cyber-Safety activities that have been covered in PBS this term.  More information for parents/carers can be found at:

PEAC (Primary Extension and Challenge)

Next term, all Year 4 students will have the opportunity to be assessed for suitability for inclusion in the PEAC Program for 2021. The PEAC Program provides part time extension and enrichment for exceptionally able students in Years 5 and 6. Students who are accepted into PEAC are offered a range of courses that provide them with work that is intellectually challenging. Testing at EVPPS will occur in Week 3 of Term 4. If you do not wish your child to be included in the PEAC assessment, please notify the school in writing by Friday 23rd October.

Outdoor Sustainability Day

We will be finishing off the term with a fun-filled day of activities and healthy habits on Friday 25th Sept. There will be a huge range of things to do on the day, including: The Sustainability Show, Health-based Activities and Incursions, The Unveiling of the Healthy Hero Picture Book and much, much more. A MASSIVE thank you goes to Miss Matthews and her team for organising this amazing day.

Room 6 Assembly

Congratulations to Miss Oag and all of the students from Room 6 for putting on a fantastic assembly this morning. Room 6 explained the importance of looking after our environment and making sure that rubbish and litter is always picked up. They presented the information as an entertaining poem.
